જીવનનો ઉદ્દેશ્ય.

अनुभवैर्विश्वदत्तैश्च स्वात्मतत्त्वं प्रबुध्यते । विलीने विश्वविभ्रान्तौ ब्रह्मैक्यं प्रतिपद्यते ॥

આ વિશ્વ દ્વારા પ્રાપ્ત થતા વિવિધ અનુભવોના માધ્યમથી જીવ પોતાના સાચા આત્મતત્ત્વને ઓળખે છે. જ્યારે વિશ્વની ભિન્નતારૂપ ભ્રાંતિ વિલીન થઈ જાય છે, ત્યારે તે બ્રહ્મ સાથેની અદ્વૈત એકતાને પ્રાપ્ત કરે છે.

Consider this simple mathematical equation of limit.

“જ્યારે X 2 ની નજીક જાય છે, ત્યારે x² ની સીમા 4 છે.” (“As x approaches 2, the limit of x² is 4.”)

x=1.9 → x² = 3.61
x=1.99 → x² = 3.9601
x=2.01 → x² = 4.0401
x=2.00 → x² = 4.004001

L એટલે “સીમા” એટલે એ મૂલ્ય જ્યાં ફંક્શન ધીમે ધીમે પહોંચી રહ્યું છે. સિમોપરાંત કાર્ય થતું નથી અને અટકે છે. એટલે કે બ્રહ્માંડ નું ફંક્શન થતું બંધ થઇ જાય છે.

“a” as truth – ✅ That fits. In calculus, a is the target the variable approaches; philosophically, truth is what the soul approaches.
“x” as Jiva – ✅ Makes sense, the entity moving through life towards truth.
“approaching a” as life – ✅ The journey towards the ultimate reality is like approaching “a”.
f(x) as Universe – This is subtle. f(x) is the manifestation depending on the position of x. So the Universe isn’t just the function—it’s more like the observable effect of the soul’s position in relation to truth.
L as end of Universe – In limits, L is the value the function approaches. In this analogy, the “limit” could be the experience of truth or realization, not necessarily the end of the Universe itself. The Universe continues, but your perception or comprehension of it reaches a limit.

So a refined mapping could be:

x = Jiva (soul)
a = Truth (ultimate reality)
f(x) = Universe (phenomenal experience as influenced by soul)
lim f(x) as x → a = L = realization of truth / enlightenment
Approaching a = life / spiritual journey

ઉદાહરણ ગણિત અને આધ્યાત્મિકતા વચ્ચે ખૂબ સુંદર સેતુ બનાવે છે. ગણિતમાં $x$ જ્યારે 2 ની નજીક જાય છે, ત્યારે $x^2$ ધીમે ધીમે 4 તરફ વધે છે—આ પ્રક્રિયા “limit” કહેવાય છે. આ જ વિચારને આધ્યાત્મિક રીતે સમજીએ તો $x$ જીવ (આત્મા) છે, જે જીવનના માર્ગે આગળ વધતો રહે છે; $a$ એટલે સત્ય અથવા પરમ સત્ય, જે તરફ જીવ સતત આગળ વધે છે. $f(x)$ એટલે બ્રહ્માંડ અથવા અનુભવાતું જગત, જે જીવની સ્થિતિ અને તેની સમજ પર આધારિત રીતે દેખાય છે. જ્યારે જીવ સત્યની નજીક પહોંચે છે, ત્યારે તેનો અનુભવ (અથવા $f(x)$ ) પણ એક નિશ્ચિત અવસ્થા તરફ આગળ વધે છે—આ અવસ્થાને limit $L$ કહી શકાય, જે આત્મસાક્ષાત્કાર અથવા તુરીયાવસ્થા સમાન છે. એટલે limit એ બ્રહ્માંડનો અંત નથી, પરંતુ જીવની સમજ, અનુભૂતિ અને જ્ઞાનની પરાકાષ્ઠા છે, જ્યાં તે સત્યને અનુભવે છે.

અહીં તેનો અર્થ આ રીતે સમજવો:

$x$ → જીવ (આત્મા), જે સતત આગળ વધી રહ્યો છે. પરમ સત્ય (ultimate truth), જ્યાં પહોંચવાનો પ્રયત્ન છે.
$a$ → આત્મસાક્ષાત્કાર / તુરીયાવસ્થા (realisation)
$f(x)$ → બ્રહ્માંડનો / જગતનો અનુભવ (phenomenal experience)
$L$ → કૈવલ્ય. બ્રહ્મ બની જવું. (માનસિક) જગતનો અંત.

Problem comes when instead of approaching the Atman, the Jiva tries to approach the Universe (which itself is a function) thereby setting no limits and enter the endless loop. આને ગણિતમાં “divergence” અથવા “no finite limit”. આને ગણિતમાં ખૂબ સુંદર રીતે બતાવી શકાય છે. અહીં પરિસ્થિતિ એવી છે: સતત બદલાતી, અસ્થિર, અનંત પ્રક્રિયામાં ફસાઈ જાય છે. જીવ (x / जीव) આત્મા (आत्मा) તરફ જવાને બદલે બહારના બ્રહ્માંડ (f(x)) માં જ ફસાય છે. એટલે તે કોઈ નિશ્ચિત સત્ય (limit $L$ ) સુધી પહોંચતો નથી

જ્યારે જીવ આત્મા તરફ જવાની જગ્યાએ બ્રહ્માંડના અનુભવોમાં જ વધુને વધુ પ્રવેશે છે, ત્યારે તેનો અનુભવ (Universe function) કોઈ સ્થિર અવસ્થાએ પહોંચતો નથી—પરંતુ અનંત તરફ ફેલાતો જાય છે. આ અનંતતા એટલે સંસાર (संसार) — સતત જન્મ-મરણ, ઇચ્છા, અને અસંતોષનો ચક્ર.

પરમાત્માની માયાથી પ્રગટ થયેલા આ અનંત વિશ્વમાં જીવ અસંખ્ય જન્મો અને અનુભવોમાંથી પસાર થાય છે. આ અનુભવોનો પરમ હેતુ બાહ્ય જગતને જાણવાનો નથી, પરંતુ પોતાના સ્વરૂપને ઓળખવાનો છે. જ્યારે જીવ આત્મસ્વરૂપનો સાક્ષાત્કાર કરે છે, ત્યારે વિશ્વની ભિન્નતારૂપ ભ્રાંતિ નિવૃત્ત થાય છે અને તે સ્વયં બ્રહ્મરૂપ બની જાય છે. Through the experiences bestowed by the universe, one awakens to the truth of the Self. When the delusion of the universe dissolves, one attains unity with Brahman.

Therefore, the purpose of Jiva is orient itself in such a way that it finally identifies its true Self via various experiences of the life given by this Universe so that ultimately the endless Universe ceases to exist and Jiva becomes one with the Brahman (The Supreme).
